Questions & answers — Shopify Development

Do you build on an existing theme or from scratch?

Usually on a well-chosen theme, customised in Liquid, CSS and JavaScript where it matters, because that keeps the store maintainable and upgradeable. Fully custom builds make sense for unusual catalogues or B2B logic; we say which one you need after looking at your requirements, not before.

How long does a Shopify launch take?

A standard launch takes two weeks, a custom build five to seven, a migration from another platform four to six. The clock starts when we have access and data, not when the contract is signed.

Can you migrate us from WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Magento or Atomstore?

Yes. Products, variants, customers, order history, content and URLs. A 301 redirect map is the first deliverable, every old URL gets a one-to-one destination, and we monitor Search Console for 30 days after go-live so rankings do not go missing.

Will we lose Google rankings during migration?

Some short-term fluctuation is normal in any replatform. Permanent loss is not, provided redirects, metadata, headings and internal links are carried over properly. That is the part most migrations skip and the part we do first.

Do you handle the ERP and warehouse integration?

Yes. Baselinker, Comarch ERP XL and similar systems, stock sync, order export, invoicing, and the order flow from checkout through fulfilment. The store is not finished until an order placed on it lands correctly in your accounting.

What about Shopify B2B, trade accounts and price lists?

We build B2B stores on Shopify: company accounts, customer-specific price lists, net terms, quantity rules, catalogue restrictions and payment on invoice. Spare-parts catalogues with tens of thousands of SKUs are a speciality.

How fast will the store be?

Fast enough to pass Core Web Vitals on mobile. We keep app bloat down, load images correctly, defer non-critical scripts and test on real devices, not only in Lighthouse. Performance is a build requirement, not an optimisation phase.

Do you write the product content and take the photos?

Content, yes: product descriptions written for search and for the customer, category copy, FAQ and structured data. Photography is arranged with a partner or you supply it. Ask about creative production if you need both.

What does the Dev Block mean?

Eight hours of senior Shopify development bought as a block and spent on whatever you need: a new section, a checkout tweak, an integration fix, a theme update. It is the simplest way to get things done when a full project is not justified.

Who owns the code and the store after launch?

You do. The theme, the custom code and every account are in your name from day one. We document what we built and can hand it to another developer at any time without drama.
